Reltech. Migne Patrologia Latina.
I don’t have the exact date about this notice, the Reltech editors have released finally the Patrologia Latina in graphic format.
Right now only two ‘sample’ volumes are being offered online, but the digitazion process still being developed.
Migne’s Patrologia Latina
Migne’s Patrologia Latina is now available from the Religion and Technology Center in electronic form. At present, because we are still in the process of digitizing the set, we are offering Electronic PL in online form only. While the set is still incomplete, we are offering substantial discounts off the projected completed price. All institutions and individuals who buy now will receive free upgrades as new volumes become available. When the digitization process is completed, all users will have the option to purchase a set of DVDs for the cost of production and shipping.

I download the entire PG collection, and i can say that has a high quality!
even this 2 fre PL vols prove that.
I download some PG volume, and the quality is not very good!
What i can do to see like ” high quality”?
Doxologie:
High quality refers to the possibility of imprint the images having a close result to the original printing editions.
Here are two questions:
first. the quality of any digitazion about the original Migne edition never will be clearest and sharp than the Garnier editions -which have used a little different tipographie- and visually even the first imprints in the original books are very poor.
second. the paper used for the Migne editions was a cheapest material for the imprints, then the yellow color in the items does not allow to make -using the scans with full color- and/or derive great quality images in b/w without lost a lot of few details, the clarity of the text the first of all that.
then, when we talk about a high quality we talk about the possibility of make a personal imprint with the images, and no way about a great format who contains all the color profiles: even the original books does not have a good quality of tipographie and paper.
